We recently had the pleasure of creating a very special cake for an Easter birthday celebration, and this one was an absolute joy to make!

Debbie crafted a rich chocolate sponge, layered generously with smooth chocolate buttercream, before finishing it with a perfectly even chocolate buttercream icing. A true dream for any chocolate lover, this cake was designed to be just as indulgent on the inside as it was fun and eye‑catching on the outside.

Because the celebration fell around Easter, the decoration had to reflect the season. The star of the show was a handmade fondant bunny, created by Debbie with lots of care and attention to detail. From the sweet little face at the front to the fluffy tail around the back, this bunny added personality and charm that made the cake truly one of a kind.

To really lean into the chocolate theme, the cake was finished with a scattering of mini eggs, adding pops of colour and a little crunch. Not only do they look fantastic, but they also give a fun nod to Easter while keeping everything deliciously chocolatey.
