At Cakes by Debbie, we love bringing our customers’ ideas to life—and this recent birthday bake was an especially fun one! Debbie was asked to create a cake for Toby, a huge LEGO fan, and the brief was wonderfully clear:
a bright yellow LEGO block… made entirely of cake!
🧱 A LEGO Block You Can Eat
To match Toby’s favourite building bricks, Debbie baked a beautifully light vanilla sponge, layered generously with smooth vanilla buttercream and a classic strawberry jam filling. The cake was then carefully sculpted into the unmistakable shape of a LEGO brick—complete with raised studs on top!
But the real magic came with the finishing touches: a flawless coat of bold yellow icing to bring the iconic brick to life, looking as though it had been plucked straight from a LEGO set.

Toby’s family wanted something playful, colourful, and instantly recognisable—and the final cake did exactly that. Seeing the excitement and smiles it brought to Toby’s birthday celebration made the whole creation even more special.
