These 45 special vanilla flavoured cupcakes were made for a charity fund raising event to help raise money for The Lily Foundation.

The Lily Foundation is the UK’s leading charity dedicated to fighting mitochondrial disease. Their mission is to support people whose lives are affected by the condition, raise awareness and fund research into its prevention, diagnosis and treatment. Millions of people in the UK suffer from diseases in which mitochondrial dysfunction is believed to be involved, and every day in the UK a baby is born that will develop mitochondrial disease. The Lily Foundation is fighting to change this, with their ultimate aim being to one day find a cure.
The Lily Foundation was founded in 2007 by Liz Curtis in memory of her daughter Lily, who died from mitochondrial disease at just eight months old. Finding little in the way of specialist knowledge or support available to help her through her ordeal, Liz set out to provide answers for herself and others in her situation. And so the Lily Foundation was created.

The charity to date supports over 300 families nationwide, it is a small yet fantastic team backed by a medical board drawn from the UK’s top centres for mitochondrial research, the Lily Foundation forms a vital link between patients, doctors and medical science bodies.
The cupcakes for this fundraiser were decorated and designed to reflect The Lily Foundations colours.
